Lussilia – “Nuestra Fiesta”

Lussilia, the Venezuelan-Canadian singer-songwriter now based in Vancouver, has been steadily carving out her space by weaving Latin pop with Venezuelan folk and a mix of global textures. Her songs, often sung across three languages, push for connection across identities. Earlier this year she released her debut EP ten four sixty one, a nod to her heritage and a first marker of her direction.

Her new single “Nuestra Fiesta,” made in collaboration with Latincouver, was written as a celebration of Latin unity in Canada. It will soundtrack cultural events in Vancouver ahead of the FIFA 2026 World Cup, but the song works outside of that context too. The arrangement builds from a mysterious, almost tribal pulse into something brighter and more expansive. Packed with Latin percussion, it moves from intrigue to release, matching a communal chant-like energy with a burst of joy.

Lussilia’s voice drives the shift. Energetic without being overblown, she brings warmth and rhythm into each phrase, anchoring the percussion and lifting the chorus. What starts as shadowy and searching quickly flips into triumph, like stepping from a dark street into a parade.

It’s celebratory by design, but the track doesn’t just carry the weight of an event tie-in. It works as a standalone piece of Latin pop, rooted in tradition yet aiming at collective joy.
