yler Bates and Joel J. Richard have been chosen to compose the score for Ballerina, the exciting new action thriller that expands the John Wick saga. Directed by Len Wiseman, known for his work on the Underworld series, the film features a stellar cast, including Ana de Armas and Anjelica Huston, alongside Keanu Reeves.
This story takes place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and centers on Eve Macarro, who begins her training in the deadly traditions of the Ruska Roma assassins. The screenplay is written by Shay Hatten, promising a mix of intense action and character depth.
Bates and Richard are well-versed in the John Wick universe, having scored all previous installments. Their return is expected to maintain the franchise’s unique sound. Initially, Marco Beltrami and Anna Drubich were set to handle the music, but the shift back to Bates and Richard reflects the film’s evolving vision.
Produced by Thunder Road Films and with input from John Wick director Chad Stahelski, Ballerina aims to add new layers to the beloved series. Audiences can anticipate its theatrical debut on June 6, 2025.
