Saqib, Naayaab & AREUBLUE – Dhum Dhum Ta (EP)

Saqib, Naayaab, and AREUBLUE return with Dhum Dhum Ta, a two-track EP that builds on their previous collaboration Samundar but pushes further into heavier, darker territory. Released on the Beats On Time label, the EP leans into a desi-influenced electronic sound with a distinctive underground energy.

The title track hits first with force. The bassline is thick and mechanical, with a raw texture that echoes metal and punk influences but recontextualized for the dancefloor. The momentum doesn’t rely on sudden drops or bright shifts – it’s steady, charged, and made for rooms with sweat on the walls. The groove is tightly locked and doesn’t drift, which gives the track its driving presence. It feels like it was built for late sets, where tension is just as important as release.

The second track stretches into something more atmospheric. While it still rides a club-ready tech house pulse, there’s a cinematic edge that makes it stand out. The arrangement has a pace and mood that would work well in visual media – particularly in scenes with movement, pressure, or forward chase. It doesn’t over-announce itself but has a rhythmic intensity that would sit well in the background of action or tension-heavy sequences.

As a duo of tracks, Dhum Dhum Ta doesn’t waste space. Both cuts land with clear intent and avoid filler. The collaboration again proves that Saqib, Naayaab, and AREUBLUE have a shared language – one that merges groove, grit, and just enough atmosphere to leave a mark.
