Raffertie Unveils Dark, Techno-Infused First Track from The Substance Score

Raffertie has unveiled the first track from his highly anticipated score for the upcoming psychological horror The Substance, now available for streaming on major platforms. The track delivers a dark, techno-inspired sound, but with a unique twist—its pulsating rhythms are filtered to create an unsettling, deep resonance that mirrors the film’s eerie tone.

Directed by Coralie Fargeat and starring Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and Dennis Quaid, The Substance follows the story of a fading celebrity who turns to a dangerous black-market drug that regenerates her cells, temporarily creating a younger and enhanced version of herself. As the film explores themes of transformation and identity, Raffertie’s haunting score provides a sonic landscape that heightens the tension, with its deep, filtered techno vibe adding to the sense of unease.

Premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, The Substance is set to release in U.S. theaters on September 20th. The newly released track offers listeners a glimpse into the atmospheric, genre-blending score that promises to intensify the film’s chilling narrative.
